Description du contenu de l'enseignement

Trusts are ubiquitous in all common law systems which they typify. The trust has no exact equivalent in civil law jurisdictions such as France. Yet most asset managers will encounter trusts in their careers, in the shape of pension or investment funds for instance. Trusts are used as a sensible way of holding, preserving and generating fortunes in the family context, but also by companies to organise employee benefits schemes. This course aims at introducing the main concepts and rules in relation to the operation of trusts. Students will be required to practice and improve their English in this specific linguistic context, through role playing exercises and legal problem solving.
