Description du contenu de l'enseignement

Sharing economy, open innovation, green business, mobility, maker movement, etc. are the flagships of important changes that are occurring in business and society. These changes appear as a way to face major economical, social, and environmental challenges such as economic crises, unemployment or climate change. Moreover, these new business models and work practices call into question the fundamental categories in business and management. The matter of organization and management has to be reconsidered.
The course will deal with the innovative management, technologies and business models that bring solutions to major challenges and change in business and society. It aims to provide you with the fundamentals to enable you to understand current change in management and business, and tools to manage innovative projects.

Through the course, the aims are :
  • to master innovative project management
  • to understand current evolutions in business and management
  • to renew our understanding about business, organization and management.
Class sessions will be conducted as a combination of exercises, lectures and open-class discussions, including both important concepts and exercises. Thus, pre-class preparation is important and classroom participation will be included in the students' final evaluation. Course readings will be supplemented at various times by experiential exercises that relate to the topics being covered.

Mode de contrôle des connaissances

  • Integrated project 1: “Google X project”
- Prepare a project aimed at developing a new product or service, from the initial idea to the steps of evaluation and control
- Groups of 5-6 students
- Delivery: document (10 pages) and presentations during the sessions
 
  • Integrated project 2: “Trendy Consulting project”
- Search for information and analyze a topic related to project management
- Groups of 2-4 students
- Delivery: slides and presentation

Overall, the evaluation will rely on: the quality of contributions during class (Relevance of analyses, critical viewpoint, sharing of experience, etc.), the quality of the analyses demonstrated in the final exam, and the quality of the group project (Depth of analyses, critical viewpoint, quality of sources, etc.), i.e. the ability of the participants to develop team abilities and to work effectively together. The participants are encouraged to share their experiences and practices in relation to the issues covered by the course.
